Five Johnson Controls Plants honored with Quality Excellence Award from General Motors

Winners meet or exceed a stringent set of quality performance criteria

Johnson Controls was among the first recipients of the new GM Quality Excellence Award for consistent outstanding quality for a range of products it provides to General Motors. The award went to five of the company’s plants that are located throughout the world.

"Quality and customer satisfaction are fundamental to how we operate at Johnson Controls," said Stephen A. Roell, chairman and chief executive officer of Johnson Controls. "We are honored that General Motors, a long-standing and valued customer of Johnson Controls recognized us for our achievements with five GM Quality Excellence Awards."

Johnson Controls plants receiving the global automaker's award are: seating plants in St. Petersburg, Russia; Saragossa, Spain; Lerma, Mexico; a headliner plant in Lansing, United States; and a battery plant in Sorocaba, Brazil.

Winners meet or exceed a stringent set of quality performance criteria set by General Motors along with cross-functional support of the entire GM organization. The GM Supplier Quality Excellence Award recognized about 7 percent of product suppliers – those who have demonstrated the highest levels of quality performance over the previous 12 months.
