An accident this morning at Michigan Avenue and Belleville Road in Canton Township left two women dead, according to a report by WXYZ-TV.

According to the report, a yellow Chevrolet Cavalier and white Chevrolet Monte Carlo collided about 2:10 a.m., killing two women traveling in the Cavalier. The intersection reopened at about 8 a.m., the report said.

Family members told WXYZ-TV that 18-year-old Brooke Kennedy, a recent graduate of Belleville High School and employee at Ruby Tuesday in Canton, was one of the victims in the accident.

Messages were left with Canton Police Detective Sgt. Dave Shreiner, who is handling the crash investigation, seeking more information.
