5. Bull Durham comes to Penn Theatre today
Another Kevin Costner baseball classic is coming to the Penn Theatre tonight: Bull Durham. Those who enjoyed last week's Field of Dreams might find something to like in this 1988 baseball comedy-drama. The film is rated R and starts at 7 p.m. All seats are $3.
4. Plymouth-Canton School Board meets today for special redistricting meeting
Plymouth-Canton Community Schools will have another redistricting meeting at 7 p.m. today at Discovery Middle School, 45083 Hanford Road in Canton. You can view the agenda on the district website. This second round of redistricting meetings follows the board voting down a proposal to close Gallimore Elementary as part of a previous redistricting plan.
3. Hines Park dog park to close for reseeding
The dog park at Hines Park will close from May 1-May 25 to plant new grass. It will be unavailable for use during this time.
Additionally, registration for the park's 2012 season will begin May 1, according to an email from park officials. The fee this year will increase to $20, up from its previous fee of $5.
Applicants can apply for a park pass at Nankin Mills, 33175 Ann Arbor Trail. They will need to bring the dog's city or township dog license and vaccination records.
