5 Things You Need to Know Today — April 20, 2012

Here's what's going on today in Plymouth and Canton.

Photo trivia: Where in Plymouth or Canton was this photo taken?

The answer to Thursday's trivia was Plymouth High School, originally at Central Middle School's location and the first school in the current Plymouth-Canton Community Schools district.

    5. One for the Money comes to Penn Theatre today

A Katherine Heigl movie is coming to the Penn Theatre tonight: One for the Money. The film is rated PG-13, runs 91 minutes and starts at 7 p.m. All seats are $3.

    4. Plan ahead: Green Street Fair is May 4-6

1990s rockers the Verve Pipe headline the Green Street Fair in May at Kellogg Park. Sing along with "The Freshmen" on May 5, when the band takes the stage at 5 p.m. for the Saturday concert, and stop by on each of the three days to enjoy live music, vendor booths and exhibits.

    3. Prepare for Diva Day this weekend

Divas rejoice: Downtown Plymouth will host the return of Diva Day on Saturday at Kellogg Park. Check out our preview here on Patch, and stop by early (the fun starts at 10 a.m.) for a chance to nab a free pair of sunglasses.

    2. Tell us what you learned from you mother

In honor of Mothers Day on May 13, Patch is giving away two sets of four tickets to the Bump-to-Baby & Beyond Expo at The Inn at St. John's in Plymouth on Sunday, May 6. The game is simple: Tell us what you learned from your mother. You can read the contest rules and enter the contest on our contest page.

      1. Reminder: Register for our April 25 education forum with Center for Michigan

Patch has partnered with the Center for Michigan to bring community conversations to communities throughout the state. We will be at Pioneer Middle School from 6-8 p.m. on April 25. Please RSVP, as space is limited. More details and a link to our signup form are available on Plymouth and Canton Patch. We will email everyone who signed up shortly to confirm your plans.

The wine barrel is in front of Napoletana Pizza and Vino on Penniman in Plymouth. Yesterdays question was a tough one.
