Canton Idol 2012's preliminary round for high school singers will be 7 p.m. at The Village Theater at Cherry Hill. Canton Idol is the search for the best middle school and high school singers in southeastern Michigan. There are cash prizes of $500, $300 and $200 for the top three finalists. The finals are Aug. 30.
