5. Harvest for All Food Drive
Chicks 4 Charity and the Wayne County Farm Bureau are teaming up to raise money for the Harvest for All program to help feed the hungry. They are collecting non-perishable food items at the Tammy Brown Agency, 308 North Canton Center Road, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. until October 18th. Food collected and funds raised will go to Open Door Ministry, St. Vincent DePaul and Gleaners Food Banks.
4. Sound Garden — Fall Celebration at the Trails
Indulge in an afternoon at the Lower Rouge Recreation Trail as the arts meet Mother Nature with a decidedly autumn-esque twist at Sound Garden, beginning at noon today. Stroll along the picturesque path and allow yourself to be serenaded by talented musicians that will be set up along the trail. Potters, Plein Air Painters and other visual artists will also be demonstrating on-site and lunch options will be available for purchase. Admission to the event is free. Park at the trail head lot which is located on Morton Taylor Road north off of Michigan Avenue.
3. Restaurant Week Continues
Ten downtown restaurants will show off signature dishes for Downtown Plymouth's Restaurant Week, which began Friday and runs through Oct. 7. No tickets are required, but meals run between $15-35. 2. Penn Theatre Shows 'The Odd Life of Timothy Green'
The film is about a childless couple who bury a box in their backyard containing all of their wishes for an infant. A child is born but he is not all that he appears. The film will show 7 and 9 p.m. tonight and 5 and 7 p.m. Sunday at the Penn Theatre in downtown Plymouth.
