Canton Annual Tree Lighting Tonight

It's the Canton Leisure Services' 33rd Annual Tree Lighting and visit from Santa.

Canton Leisure Services' 33rd Annual Tree Lighting kicks off the township's holiday season with music, family friendly activities inside and out, refreshments, crafts for kids. Santa Claus will light the tree before heading to a comfy chair and chats with children.

Canton first lit its "official tree" in 1978, so for many families the annual celebration has become a seasonal tradition. (Check out Canton Patch's 2010 photo gallery.) Come and enjoy the sights and sounds of the season, in addition to a variety of festive indoor and outdoor activities, including: seasonal entertainment, children's crafts, and delicious refreshments.  This annual event will also include a visit from Santa Claus, who's coming to town for a special appearance.

The official lighting ceremony is just outside the Summit, at 6:30 p.m.
