Canton Township Police responded June 1 to Guitar Center, 39415 Ford Road, for a report of a missing Paul Reed Smith Custom 24 electric guitar valued at $3,000, according to a police report.
The store’s manager told police he does not know who took the guitar, but that it was last seen on May 30. The guitar is almond burst-colored and has a serial number of 09148278, the report said.
Police have no suspects, but advised the store manager to check local pawn shops and online auction and classifieds sites, the report said.
Storage yard reports break-ins; trailer owner reports stolen musical equipment
Canton Township Police responded to a storage unit at the 40000 block of Michigan Avenue for a report of someone breaking into a trailer and taking items, according to a police report.
The property manager told police between 5:30 p.m. on May 29 and 3:30 p.m. May 30, someone broke into the enclosed sport trailer and took music equipment.
The owner of the trailer reported a missing Mesa Boogie guitar head, a pedal case with several pedals for different guitar effects and a Fender “P” bass set. He told police someone also had removed his sound board from his trailer and placed it outside.
While addressing the stolen music equipment, the owner of another trailer with a broken-off lock arrived at the property after being called by the property manager. The owner of the second trailer acknowledged someone had broken in, but said there was nothing inside for anyone to steal, the report said.
A storage unit also had a lock cut off, the report said, but the renter of the unit told police nothing was missing.
On June 4, police responded again to the property for a report of someone breaking into a storage unit, according to a police report.
An employee at the storage facility told police someone had taken the slide lock off of the unit, and three pieces of property were missing, including a cigar box set with a flask, carpet cleaner and a juicer.
Police have no suspects in either incident.
