Day 1: Compari's Courses for Restaurant Week

There are 10 restaurants participating in Downtown Plymouth's 10-day Restaurant Week.

Plymouth Restaurant Week is a chance for people to experience the tastes of Downtown Plymouth.

It's a 10-day event from Sept. 28 to Oct.7 when participating restaurants will feature three, four, or five-course meals at discounted prices.

Compari's On the Park is one of the restaurants participating and will be serving three-course meals for $25.

First course options:

Calabrese Plate

"It's a traditional Italian appetizer consisting of different meats and cheeses and olives," said Ryan Yaquinto, general manager of Compari's.

It will have prosciutto, a thinly sliced Italian ham and sopressata, a dry-cured salami.

    Bruschetta Pomodoro

"It's fresh Italian bread topped with fresh diced tomatoes, garlic, olive and a little bit of basil," he said.

        Four Cheese Focaccia

Yaquinto said it is an oven baked bread with four cheeses - asiago, mozzarella, romano and parmesan.

          Second course:

          Chicken Paisano

The chicken is sauteed with lemon and white wine, Yaquinto said. It includes artichokes and is served with pasta.

            Baccala

"It's a very traditional Italian seafood dish consisted of cod," he said.

It includes olive oil, bay leaves, a tomato sauce and is served with fresh vegetables and pasta.

                Lasagna

It is a meat and cheese layered pasta with homemade sauce and baked mozzarella cheese.

                    Third course:

                    Spumoni

"Spumoni is a three layer ice cream," Yaquinto said. "It consists of chocolate, vanilla and cherry."

                        Bread Pudding (house made)

                          Cannoli

"It's house made and filled with chocolate and dipped in almonds," he said.

All of the dishes are on Compari's regular menu.

"They are meant to highlight our menu," said Yaquinto, about the featured items for Restaurant Week.

Compari's three-course meal will be available starting at 3 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 1 p.m. Sunday.
