1. Chat with Rep. Kurt Heise
Rep. Kurt Heise, R-Plymouth, will make rounds today to meet with constituents. At 10 a.m., you can find him at Northville District Library, 212 W. Cady St., Northville; at 1 p.m. he's scheduled to be at the Wayne Community Center, 4635 Howe Rd., Wayne; and at 3 p.m., he'll be closer to home, at Plymouth District Library, 223 S. Main St., Plymouth.
2. Vietnam Veterans Meet
The Vietnam Veterans of America, Chapter 528's general membership meeting is at 7 tonight, at VFW Post No. 6695, 1426 S. Mill St. (Lilley Rd.) in Plymouth
3. Write to Santa
Canton Township's Leisure Services office has a mailbox for those who wish to write Santa. Bring your letters to the North Pole Express mailbox in the Summit on the Park's lobby through Dec. 2.
Make sure your name and address are clearly printed so Santa's reply gets to you as soon as possible.
4. Furlough Day
The Canton Administration Building, Canton Public Safety's records bureau, police and fire administrative offices and ordinance enforcement unit will be closed today for a furlough. Township offices reopen at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday. Police, fire and emergency services will operate normally, as will leisure services programs outside the township administration building.
5. Meet with the DDA
Members of Canton's Downtown Development Authority are scheduled to meet at 8 a.m. Wednesday in Township Supervisor Phil LaJoy's conference room, on the third floor of the Canton Administration Building. Call Christine Popoff at 734-394-5184 with questions.
