High winds caused a utility pole on Junction near Pacific in Plymouth to break early Sunday, according to an email by Plymouth City Manager Paul Sincock.

According to Sincock, the breakage occurred after a tree took down power lines in the area.

The city issued an alert at about 2:11 a.m. Sunday notifying residents of the breakage.

Power has been restored in the area but, according to a DTE Energy outage map at about 9 p.m. Sunday, about 189 residences in the area between Beck and Napier roads between Ann Arbor Road and Ford Road in Canton are without power.
