In Case of Emergency: Five Stores Open on Christmas Day

If you need a carton of milk or batteries on the 25th, read on for your emergency (sort of) survival guide.

Oops! The in-laws are staying with you over the holiday and you wake up Christmas morning realizing your guests like half-and-half in their coffee, and you're out. Or you find you ran out of batteries for the remote control — no one will be happy with that one. Where to go, should a last-minute surprise pop up? We have a little list for you, should you need to head out to the door and grab something on the quick.

7-Eleven

7171 N. Canton Center Road, Canton
734-455-0740
www.7-eleven.com/
What can we say? The corner 7-Eleven (at whatever corner you happen to be) is open, selling milk, bread, soda, cat food, magazines, gum and much more. Plus, you can treat yourself to a Slurpee if you're so inclined.

7-Eleven

45490 Michigan Ave., Canton
734-394-0676
www.7-eleven.com/
Rounding another corner, and we're at another 7-Eleven, this one selling all the conveniences you'd expect, plus you can fill up with a tank of gas or pick up a donut while you're at it.

Canton Party Store

43431 Michigan Ave., Canton
734-397-0405
Canton Party Store will be open from noon-9 p.m. Christmas Day, should you need to use the ATM or grab something last-minute for holiday needs.

Dunkin' Donuts

39600 Ann Arbor Road E., Plymouth
734-459-5944
Besides a Dunkin Donuts on site, there's also a convenience store inside with pop, water, juices, candy, snacks and more. Plus the site is open 24 hours, so you can get a donut and a coffee to go any time, though pastries may be pared down a bit due to it being a holiday.

Quick Pick Liquor

9450 N. Lilley Road, Plymouth
734-454-4222
Called a convenience store for a reason, Quick Pick will be open from noon-midnight Christmas Day, so if you run out of milk, need some beer, a bag of chips and the like, they're there for your last-minute shopping needs.

I don't think you can buy beer on Christmas day, so if you are having a party, stock up!

Michigan actually now allows liquor sales on Christmas Eve and Day, as well as Sunday mornings.
