Man Arrested on Marijuana Possession Charges in Canton
The following information was provided by the Canton Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.
Canton Township Police checked a parking area behind Trip Kings Poker Room, 8669 N. Lilley, on Nov. 12 after spotting a man parked in a silver Lexus for a prolonged period of time, according to a police report.
Because the man was parked in the dark and because the lot has a history of drug activity, police made contact with the man, the report said.
The man told police he was waiting in the lot for his friend to come out of Trip Kings so he could drive her home, the report said.
Police found the man had a felony warrant for delivery and manufacturing of marijuana and refusing to obey a police order with the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, the report said.
Police took the man into custody so Washtenaw County Police could pick him up, the report said.
While searching the man’s car, police found a thin cigar filled with a green substance police suspected to be marijuana located between the front driver’s seat and center console, the report said.
Police recovered a zipped baggie full of a green substance also suspected to be marijuana from the glove box of the vehicle, the report said.
Police arrested the man on charges of marijuana possession and his vehicle was impounded, the report said.
The substance field tested positive as 5.8 grams of marijuana, the report said.
