Men Face Marijuana, Weapon Charges After Traffic Stop in Canton

When an officer approached the vehicle, the officer noticed it was full of smoke and had two men inside, the report said. The officer observed what appeared to be a marijuana blunt between one occupant’s fingers, the report said, and one man put the apparent blunt out when the officer approached.
When the officer opened the door, there was a strong odor of what appeared to be burning marijuana from inside the car, the report said.
One man told police he had a medical marijuana card but did not have it with him and could not call someone to bring it to the officer, and the other man told police he did not own a card, the report said.
As the officer searched one man, the other man appeared to be fidgeting and the officer heard a “clank” sound, the report said. The officer found a steel butterfly stiletto-style knife on the ground next to the man’s shoe, the report said.
Police recovered a partially smoked suspected marijuana blunt from the top of a can on the center armrest, a plastic sandwich bag with suspected marijuana from the center dashboard area, and tiny contained with suspected marijuana “shake” inside a compact disc case from the back seat of the vehicle, the report said.
Police arrested one man on charges of possession and use of marijuana, and the second man on charges of possession and use of marijuana and possession of a dangerous weapon, the report said.
