Plymouth-Canton Sets First Meeting of 2012

Board of Education welcomes newly elected members.

The Plymouth-Canton Community Schools Board of Education will hold its first meeting of 2012 on Jan. 10, according to the district's website.

The board will have its annual organizational meeting at 6 p.m. Jan. 10 at E.J. McClendon Educational Center, 454 S. Harvey St. in Plymouth, to elect officers for the year.

The board welcomes four newly elected members: Sheila Paton, John Barrett, Mark Horvath and Mike Maloney.

This meeting is expected to last less than an hour, according to the news release, and there are no citizen comments. The meeting is open to the public, however, and its first regular meeting will follow the organizational meeting at 7 p.m. This meeting will allow public comments.

The board's meeting agenda for Jan. 10 — attached with this article — appears light on content, with no action items planned. The agenda does cite a special meeting for Jan. 17, for which district superintendent Jeremy Hughes will provide details.
