Plymouth Celebrates St. Patrick's Day
The streets and businesses of downtown Plymouth were full of people celebrating in green Thursday.
Downtown Plymouth got a healthy dose of green Thursday as people celebrating St. Patrick's Day filled several local bars and restaurants.
Sean O'Callaghan's opened at 7 a.m. with a full bar and breakfast menu.
"We've just been getting busier and busier throughout the day," said owner Kevin Khashan, as he collected the $10 cover charge from patrons.
The pub hosted two live bands and live bagpipe players throughout the day.
"I was raised in Ireland," said regular customer Frank O'Callaghan of Northville, who is not affiliated with the bar. "When I come here, I feel like it's home."
The Rock Bar and Grill also had live music for it's second St. Patrick's Day in operation.
"Last year, none of us were experienced bar owners," said co-owner Doug Welko, who opened the bar with Kevin Montagano in December of 2009. "So it was trial and error. But this year has been great."
He said the nice weather likely contributed to the good turnout.
"The back patio has been packed all day," he said.
