Plymouth Man Charged in Downtown Assault

Man allegedly assaulted woman outside of downtown bar.

A 28-year-old Plymouth man faces a misdemeanor assault charge after an alleged drunken attack on a woman downtown, the Plymouth Observer is reporting.

Joshua Sims, 28, told police he blacked out before being arrested on Penniman Avenue, according to the report. Witnesses told police a man had thrown a woman to the sidewalk after she and a group of friends were taking a photograph in front of Muriel's Doll House shortly before 2 a.m. on Jan. 7, the report said.

The man was subdued by the manager of the Rock Bar and Grill, where the suspect had reportedly been escorted from shortly before the incident, the report said.

Sims was arraigned in 35th District Court on Jan. 9, the report said.
