Plymouth Officer Cleared in Shooting Death of Plymouth Township Man

Officer shot, killed 25-year-old man who was attacking him with a tire iron.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy's office is declining to press charges against a Plymouth police officer who in October shot and killed a 25-year-old Plymouth Township man who was attacking him with a tire iron, according to the Plymouth Observer.

Neither the name of the man killed nor the officer have been released.

Plymouth-Canton Patch has filed a Freedom of Information Act request seeking more information about the shooting, which occurred about 11 p.m. on Oct. 14 outside Sparr's Florist & Greenhouse on Joy Road.

Plymouth Police Chief Al Cox said at the time the officer was responding to a call from that area, assisting Plymouth Township Police and was the first to arrive on the scene.

I am glad to read that no charges against the Police Officer will be charged.
