Police Arrest Man at Canton Walmart on Charges of Huffing

The following information was provided by the Canton Township Police Department. Arrests do not indicate convictions.

Canton Township Police and emergency crews responded Nov. 21 to Walmart, 45555 Michigan Ave., for a report of a man slumped over the steering wheel of his vehicle, according to a police report.

Medics who arrived early at the scene told police the man seemed “out of it.”

Police retrieved a can of aerosol dusting spray lying between the driver’s side door and the driver’s seat that was about two-thirds full, the report said.

The man told police he had been huffing the can of spray in order to get high, the report said. He told police he currently was attending Al-Anon meetings and has prostate cancer, the report said.

Police took the man to his home and cited him on charges of huffing, the report said.
