Question: What Should Plymouth Do About Parking?

A recent parking study concluded downtown Plymouth has inadequate public parking. So, what should the city do about it?

A recent parking study by Rich & Associates concluded that , with the city owning just 40 percent of its total parking spaces inside the area where the study took place. The recommended amount of municipality-owned parking is 50 percent, the firm said.

Among the suggestions proposed by the firm were: Paid/metered parking downtown, premium parking rates for the parking deck and other prime spots, paid parking permits, separate employee parking off the main drag of downtown, acquiring more property to create more spaces and different ways of enforcing parking regulations.

The city just received the results of the study and obviously hasn't taken action yet.
