WSDP-FM Music Director Jessi Longe, a senior at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park, talks about the student-run radio station's fifth annual record show.

Record collectors turned out en masse Saturday to Salem High School in Canton for a chance to grab a rare piece of music memorabilia at a bargain price at WSDP-FM (88.1 The Park)'s fifth annual record show.

The record show is the biggest yearly fundraiser for the student-run radio station, based at Plymouth-Canton Educational Park. The event drew vendors from around Metro Detroit selling vinyl records and memorabilia from artists spanning eras from the 1950s to current performers.

Music Director Jessi Longe, a senior at Salem High School, said the selections ranged from records and posters to clothing, and artists ranged from British Invasion artists from the 1960s, such as the Beatles and Rolling Stones, to blues, jazz, country and indie rock.

"I usually go for the posters and the clothing," she said. "My parents go for the vinyl (records) and the CDs. Basically if you want it, we have it in terms of music."

Thanks, Jeff - looks like some wires in my brain got crossed when I posted that originally and it occurred to me the next day that I put 89X's decimal and not The Park's. I had it right in the video, at least! :)
