Silent Night, Holy Night: Traditional Holiday Music for Christmas Eve

Each day leading up to Christmas Day, Patch will offer holiday-themed music playlists.

Do you hear what I hear?

Christmas is a day away and the sights and sounds of the holiday season are in abundance.

To get in on the holiday spirit, Patch is creating playlists of Christmas music each day to help spread the cheer.

So here's the deal:

Each day, from today through Christmas, we'll feature a uniquely different, themed Christmas music playlist. Today's theme is Traditional Christmas. We've hand-picked selections from artists spanning several areas covering more traditional holiday fare.

You can listen here, free and legally (via Spotify), without leaving Patch!

But we also want your input. Post in the comments what you'd like to see in future installments. The themes are as follows:

  • Dec. 18: Classic Rock Christmas: From Chuck Berry and Beach Boys to Springsteen and Seger, plenty of icons have tackled the holidays.
  • Dec. 19: Alternative Christmas (newer rock/folk/indie/alternative Christmas songs, including new-school variations of old-school classics)
  • Dec. 20: Pop Christmas (Top 40-style Christmas songs)
  • Dec. 21: Gaudy/Obnoxious Christmas songs (Because even the musical equivalent of an ugly sweater deserves its day)
  • Dec. 22: Country Christmas (Christmas selections with a tad of twang)
  • Dec. 23: Hollywood Christmas (Songs you know from Christmas movies)
  • Today: Traditional Christmas (The time-tested standards)
  • Dec. 25: Children's Christmas (Singing rodents can apply within)

So go ahead and click "play" at the top of this page. We've also included a virtual fireplace, so be sure to also click "play" on the attached video, then cozy up to some holiday staples.
