Plymouth Township firefighters face personnel cuts tonight at a special Plymouth Township Board of Trustees meeting tonight.

Less than 48 hours after a special assessment proposal to fund existing fire and EMS services failed by a wide margin at the polls Tuesday, the department faces staffing cuts estimated at about 30 percent, according to firefighters union treasurer Greg Mangan.

The meeting begins at 7 p.m. at Plymouth Township Hall, 9955 N. Haggerty Road.

Here is an interactive look back at our coverage of this fire issue, dating back to 2010. You can scroll from November 2010 to March 2012 and can zoom in and out for more detail.

Forgive them Lord for they know not what they do. The Twp officials have done exactly wht the Citizens Action Group, said they would do. And for the last year they "said" we were "fear-mongering", while the whole last year they "never" gave the residents, a hint of what their intent was! Just like Plymouth City, keep it a secret until the last possible moment; then they won't have time to comment, and it will "go away in a week or two" Lies, lies, and inuendo. How can the residents of Ply. Twp. support these liars? You might as well support Kilpatrick, Ficano, Nixon, or Clinton!

Actually Nixon was a good President. His down fall was catching the democrat’s prostitution ring and money laundering scheme at the Watergate Hotel. He tried to stand behind his men as was a gentleman enough to step-down rather than tarnish the integrity of the office. By the way, you forgot the king-pin of lies; Barack Hussein Obama
So what about the lies your group dished out when they canvassed the neighborhoods telling the citizens that if they do not support the measure their house “could” burn down due to lack of resources? Why didn’t you tell them that the whole process was an attempt to displace HVA and turn the township ambulance activities into a profit center for the union?
