United Way Offers Grants for Basic Human Needs
Organization rewards 501c3 nonprofits who provide shelter, food and utilities for those in need.
The Plymouth Community United Way (PCUW) has grants available for 501c3 organizations that provide basic human needs such as food, shelter and utilities, according to a news release from the organization.
According to the news release, nonprofits should not presently be funded by
PCUW and deadline to apply is Nov. 25. Grants will be awarded by Dec. 30.
Applications are available at the office, 960 W. Ann Arbor Trail, Suite 2, in

The news release also said that addition to giving grants, PCUW funds partner agencies including First Step, Angela Hospice in Livonia, The Salvation Army Plymouth Corps, Plymouth Community Council on Aging, and YMCA-Plymouth, to name a few. These nonprofits offer a variety of services from food pantries to an emergency dental fund, bus transportation for seniors, housing for adults with
developmental disabilities, programs for victims of domestic violence, and
opportunities for Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts to develop skills and contribute to the community.
