Victoria's Secret Spartan 'Victors' Tee: Embarrassing Mistake or Clever Joke?
The lingerie shop's new Pink Collegiate Collection included a glaring flub for MSU and U-M fans.
You can no longer find the green T-shirt emblazoned with the words "Spartans: Hail to the Victors" on Victoria's Secret's website.
The lingerie shop took the Michigan State item out of its Pink Collegiate Collection lineup after CNBC's Darren Rovell pointed out the painful mistake in a tweet on Friday.
Because it's not as if Spartan fans would want to buy a shirt featuring the University of Michigan fight song -- or would they?
A Detroit Free Press article wonders if the mistake might not have been as innocent as it seems, suggesting the clothing line might have been taking a jab at the University of Michigan and its less-than-stellar record over the past few years.

From A2 living in Columbus w/ VS headquarters; Ohio people cannot discern between UofM and MSU - they have a visceral reaction to anything "Michigan," so it's safe to say they really don't know the difference.

I just want to point out to Winnie that, yes, the VS headquarters are in Ohio however, PINK is actually designed in NYC.

. . . and as anyone who has seen Saul Steinberg's classic 1976 cover illustration for The New Yorker knows, it's all just one compressed flyover frontier west of the Hudson River.
