Canton Police Identify Worker Killed by Car

A 61-year-old contractor was killed Friday when he was run over by a man backing out of his garage in Canton.

Canton police identified Franco Didomenico, 61, of Dearborn Heights, as the contractor who was killed Friday morning when he was struck and run over by an 81-year-old man backing out of his garage in the Pheasant Glen condominiums, near Cherry Hill and Canton Center roads, according to an article by the Canton Observer

The driver was backing his 2006 Ford Five Hundred sedan out of his garage when the accident occurred, Canton Special Services Sgt. Pat Sullivan told the Observer. Police did not release the driver’s name due to the potential for charges, although authorities said the investigation indicated Didomenico’s death was an accident.

“It’s a tragedy all around,” Sullivan said.
