Criminal Juvenile Matter Dismissed at the 35 Plymouth District Court

Criminal Juvenile Matter dismissed at the Northville District Court. If you or your child has been charged with a criminal offense contact Aaron J. Boria (734) 453-7806 http://thelawyermichigan.com

The 35th District Court in Plymouth has jurisdiction over criminal cases occurring in Northville, Michigan.  The 35th District Court is one of few courts in Wayne County that handles their own  juvenile crime cases rather than sending them downtown to the Lincoln Hall of Justice in Detroit.

In this particular case our client was in a car with a group of kids headed to a party in the Township of Northville. On the way to the party they were stopped due to poor driving by the Northville Police Department.

The police searched the kids after ordering them out of the vehicle and separating them and our client was found with marijuana. She was arrested and charged with possession of marijuanaa crime punishable by up to one year in jail and a $500 fine plus costs.

Other possession of marijuana sanctions include a suspended driver license for a year (which would mean no driving at 16). A possession of marijuana conviction could affect the ability to get financial aid for college. Because she was only 15 years old her case was sent to the juvenile division of the 35th Northville District Court.

We were able to successfully prevent the marijuana conviction from being entered on our clients record. The marijuana charge will not affect her ability to obtain financial aid nor will it affect her ability to get her drivers license. No conviction will ever show up on her record and she will be able to truthfully state that she was never convicted of the juvenile crime.
