MDOT Sucks - I96 construction
Coming soon is the repair to a seven mile stretch of I96. The duration of the repairs will last for the remainder of 2014. MDOT will also repair 37 bridges in that seven miles.
Q: Do we really need to repair and maintain 37 bridges? That averages to one bridge every 1000 feet.
Q: Will MDOT modify any traffic lights on the possible alternate routes to ease construction? A: No - that would require too much thought.
While you stew in your car waiting for the traffic light to cycle for the third time, hopefully you will get across the intersection.
If you have to wait for a fourth cycle, smile and thank those in MDOT who have the planning capability of an 8th grader.
