Melodic hard rockers Dead in 5 host an exclusive – one night only – premiere of the highly anticipated horror film “Pro-Wrestlers Vs. Zombies” at the Token Lounge (28949 Joy Rd, Westland, MI/Ph: 734-513-5030) on Saturday December 14. Doors are at 7 pm; the movie starts at 8 pm, followed by live performances by Dead in 5, downriver rockers Bullet for Breakfast, Adam Arcana Sideshow, Isis Girls’ Zombie Fetish Show, snake charmer Shetan Noir and other cool surprises. Tickets are $10 at the door, and all ages are welcome (with parent).
“Pro-Wrestlers Vs. Zombies” stars WWE legends Rowdy Roddy Piper, Matt Hardy, Jim “Hacksaw” Duggan, Shane Douglas, and Olympic champ Kurt Angle, The movie is directed by Cody Knotts -who will be in attendance for the Detroit event. UK horror blog Brutal as Hell.com raves about the film: “the fights are as dramatic, brutal and exhilarating as they ought to be. If you’re a wrestling fan and you like zombies, see this film, because while it’s anything but serious art, it does exactly what it sets out do - and does it gloriously!” Pro-Wrestlers Vs. Zombies will be released worldwide in April 2014.
Adding to the festivities will be a “Hot Zombie Contest” where vixens dressed as the undead can compete to win a “killer” prize pack that includes a $100 Lucky Monkey Tattoo gift certificate, jars of Dead in 5’s lead singer Robert Libres’ notorious “Demon’s Blood” and “Face Melter” hot sauces, plus a Dead in 5 “eyeball” T-shirt.
Also on hand will be Rock and Rummage - hawking their cool wares, a spanking booth wielded by Flint, Michigan dominatrix’s - the Dirty Girls, and tarot card readings all night long.
Detroit rockers Dead in 5 have eight songs featured on the “Pro-Wrestlers Vs. Zombies” soundtrack. In addition, to the premiere, Dead in 5 will be celebrating their one-year anniversary.
Evoking a sonic mash up of Clutch, Soundgarden, White Zombie and Led Zeppelin, Dead in 5’s dirty outlaw rock makes fans raise their fists in salute to their musical juggernaut. It’s “Sons of Anarchy” meets “Fight Club” set in the post apocalyptic “Mad Max” environment of Detroit Rock City. Since forming in December 2012, Dead in 5 has become an in-demand live act headlining Metro Detroit’s top venues and festivals, in addition to support slots for national acts Five Finger Death Punch, Godsmack, Sevendust, Pop Evil, Candlebox, Skid Row, and Sponge. In July 2013, the band took first place in reality TV show “American Talent Hunters” Detroit search. In August, Dead in 5 were invited to play House of Harley’s exclusive party for Harley Davidson’s 110th Anniversary in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
