4. Cancer benefit Relay for Life takes place this weekend

The American Cancer Society's Relay for Life event in Canton will be held May 19-20 at in Canton. The relay is a 24-hour relay-style walk to raise funds to fight cancer, with funds benefiting cancer research and other causes for those affected by cancer. 3. Plymouth-Canton Extended Day program accepting applications

Plymouth-Canton Community Schools' Extended Day program will be holding a lottery for the Kids’ Time and Club Connection programs for the 2012-2013 school year, but with a change this year. Child Care Program Request forms will be accepted until June 1 and placement will not be on a first come, first serve basis as in the past; a random process will be utilized on June 4. Currently, child care space is available in all programs. Forms are available here. They also are available in the elementary and middle school offices and the Extended Day office. 2. Compuware Arena Drive-In offers sneak preview this weekend

Summer is almost here and drive-in movie season is upon us, as opens its drive-in theater this weekend for the first of two sneak-peek weekends before it begins its nightly operations after the Memorial Day weekend. There will be double-feature screenings at dusk Friday and Saturday on the drive-in's three screens in the arena's parking lot. 1. Farmers Market resumes Saturday in Plymouth

The Plymouth Farmers Market makes another stop downtown at the Gathering near on Saturday for its second week of the 2012 season. The market runs from 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and features vendors from around the region.
