5 Things You Should Know This Week

Here are five things every Plymouth resident should know this week.

1. Historic District Commission to Discuss Downtown Development

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, Plymouth's Historic District Committee will have a special meeting at the Commission Chambers at City Hall to determine the appropriateness of a proposed development at the site of the former Amoco station at Ann Arbor Trail and South Main Street. View the agenda here.

2. Music in the air begins at Kellogg Park

Music will fill the air at 7 p.m. Friday at Kellogg Park. Plymouth's Music in the Air event kicks off this week with Motor City Soul (Motown).  The series continues each Friday through Sept. 2 and admission is free. It will take a week off around July 8 for Art in the Park before resuming its normal schedule.

3. Plymouth Township Board of Trustees to discuss downtown property

The Township Board of Trustees will have a public hearing for a request by Toolco, Inc. for a 12-year industrial facilities tax exemption certificate resolution number. Also up for discussions are road repairs at the intersection of Ann Arbor Road and Sheldon Road and a liquor license request by Panos 1 Foods, Inc., doing business as Red Olive.

4. Compuware Arena hosts second week of drive-in sneak preview

has its sneak preview on Friday, Saturday and Monday. Movie listings for this week have not yet been announced, but details can be found on the venue's website. Price vary according to age. 

5. Graduation tickets on sale now

are on sale now. They can be ordered by contacting Eastern Michigan University at (734) 487-2282 or on its website. Tickets are $5 per person, and all attendees ages five and older must have a ticket to enter. All tickets must be bought in advance; no tickets will be available at the door. Suites also are available for rental. All three schools' graduations will take place June 12.
