Beatles Tribute Band Treats Crowd

The Toppermost Beatles tribute band played '60s classics in Canton's Heritage Park.

People gathered around the amphitheater in Thursday evening with their folding chairs and picnic blankets to enjoy musics from the Toppermost Beatles Tribute band for Canton’s

After last week's concert was canceled because of the extreme heat and this one was in danger of being postponed with the threat of rain, people were more than ready when the music began.

The band, self-claimed as the most popular Beatles tribute band in Michigan, performed songs like I Want to Hold Your Hand, Please Please Me, I'm a Loser and Help.

"It's good," said Lisa Kirby, although she noted she's not a Beatles fan. "We're enjoying the nice summer night out."

"I think it's good," Erin Stickel said. It was the first summer concert this year for Stickel and Kirby, who brought their children, Chloe Stickel and Laila Kirby.

13-year-old Autumn Howard was also among the crowd in Heritage Park, but less focused on the music and more focused on her customers.

"I came for face painting," she said. Howard, who works for , said she has been to every Heritage Park this summer to set up her face-painting stand and attract business.

According to Toppermost's Web site, the band's next stop is Saturday for the Chelsea Summer Fest in Chelsea, MI.
