Five Things You Need to Know June 11, 2011

How to give childhood cancer a BLAST; a really senior prom and the annual electronic car rally.

One: The benefit is today until 6 p.m. at the Canton-Plymouth Mettetal Airport, 8550 N. Lilley Rd. A $5 wristband pays for games and entertainment. Additional donations pay for food and beverages.

Two: The last day to buy tickets for Canton Rotary Club's annual 50-50 Liberty Fest raffle is at Sunday's . Tickets cost $10 for one; $25 for three and $50 for 10. The minimum payout is $1,000.

Three: The third annual is today until 4 p.m. at Schoolcraft College, 18600 Haggerty Rd. Livonia. The rally is a joint venture between the college and the Michigan Electric Auto Association.

Four: The is today until 2 p.m. at the Plymouth Cultural Center, 525 Farmer St., Plymouth. (And there are quite a few neighborhood garage sales happening right here in Canton, too!)

Five: The prom is today. The event is 5 to 8 p.m. in Summit on the Park's Maple-Oak Room and will include music and refreshments. This year's theme: Picnic for Patriotism. For details, call 734-394-5485.
