1. Historic District Commission Meets

Members of the Historic District Commission will swear in members Steve Foley and Melissa McLaughlin at the 7 p.m. meeting today at the Cherry Hill School, 50440 Cherry Hill Rd. Also on the agenda: signage, budget and planning this fall's Beer, Brats and Bands at the Barn fundraiser.

Quilters of all ages and skill levels will gather at , 1200 S. Canton Center Rd., from 7 to 8:30 tonight (in the Purple Room) to share tips, tricks, ideas, patterns and fabrics. Free.

4. Plan Ahead: GOP Picnic

Wayne 11th Congressional District Republican Committee's annual picnic is 5-9 p.m. Thursday at Livonia's Rotary Park (6 Mile Road and Hubbard) at Pavilion No. 3.
