Get Out: Five Things to Do This Weekend

With the ideas we've put together, there's no excuse to stay home.

It’s Thursday and you have no idea what to do this weekend.

Don't worry, Patch to the rescue! We’ve compiled a list of activities in the area so, whether you're planning an outing with the girls or something new for date night, we've got you covered. 

1.

Where/When: The in Northville on Friday from 6:30-9 p.m.

Why Go: Gather up some girlfriends and head to this studio where you can paint your own pottery. You can also bring snacks and a bottle of wine.

Where/When: The at Cherry Hill in Canton; performances are Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: Have friends or family in town? Take them to the theater to enjoy this  stage play about a man who claims his best friend is a 6-foot-tall talking rabbit.

Pricing:  $18 for adults; $16 for seniors and students; group rates are available

Where/When: on Friday from 6-9 p.m.

Why Go: The art sale will be open Saturday and Sunday but here's your chance to check out the artwork, donated by private collectors and local artists, before everyone else does.

Where/When:   in Northville; performance times are Friday at 8 p.m., Saturday at 3 p.m. and 8 p.m. and Sunday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: This show is based on the David Auburn play that won the 2001 Pulitzer Prize for Drama.

Pricing:  $26-$30

Where/When: on Sunday at 2 p.m.

Why Go: Wear your craziest hat to this Victorian-style tea. And, while enjoying your scones and a spot of tea, a genealogist will be on hand to discuss how one might go about tracking down some unusual--and perhaps colorful-- bits of family history.

Pricing: $25 for Plymouth Historical Society members; $30 for the general public
