"While it will be an inconvenience, we scheduled the shutdown of the top level on a Sunday and Monday when there are usually fewer visitors and employees downtown during times when there are no special events," Tony Bruscato, DDA Director, said in an email to Patch.

Alternate parking can be found in the East Central public parking lot behind the Penn Theatre, where visitors and employees may park all day without receivng a ticket. There are also all-day parking spaces in the public lot at Wing and Harvey Streets and in the public lot on Penniman Avenue.

The lower parking deck limits parking to three hours while the street limits to two hours. Those who park over the time limit will be ticketed with no exceptions.

The closing is expected to last until around 5 p.m. Monday.
