Updated: Winter Snow Storm Delays Trash Pick-Up in Plymouth and Canton

Right now, pick-up will be delayed by one day in Plymouth, Plymouth Township and Canton.

All solid waste and recycling pick-ups in the City of Plymouth will be delayed by one day this week due to extreme snowfall and poor road conditions, according to the city's Facebook Page

The delay will affect all residents in the City of Plymouth. Monday collection is now scheduled for Tuesday pick-up and so on this week.

Additionally, due to the landfill being closed Monday and the extreme snow conditions, trash collection will also be delayed one day this week in Plymouth Township, according to an e-mail alert sent out to residents.

On Sunday, Canton Municipal Services said collection will pick-up per the normal schedule, but updated its message early Monday morning with this:

"CWR gave it a shot this morning; however, the landfills have all closed causing our contractor to suspend collection of solid waste for the Monday routes. The plan for the rest of the week is to stay on schedule and try to get the Monday route caught up at the end of the day Tuesday (or Wednesday). Please stay tuned for updates early Tuesday morning."

Plymouth residents with questions can contact the City Department of Municipal Services at 734-453-7737.

Canton residents can contact Canton Waste Recycling at 734-397-5801.
