The Scarecrow Invasion contest is scheduled for 9 to 10 a.m. Voting by the public is scheduled to start at noon. Prizes will be awarded to three contestants.

“I expect that we will have a lot of fun with the scarecrows this year. We did it last year and we saw a variation, some really funny and some really scary,” said Camille Ulrich, program coordinator for Canton Township Leisure Services, who is managing the Scarecrow Invasion contest.

The children's costume contest is set to begin at noon. Kids are encouraged to wear costumes throughout the harvest celebration on Sunday for a chance to win prizes. Dress up and have fun are the only guidelines to this competition, organizers said.
