Canton Youth Theater Company to Perform 'Shrek the Musical'

Performances will be held at the Village Theater at Cherry Hill.

Cast members from Forever After Productions, a youth theater company in Canton, will present the beloved tale of an ogre, a donkey and a princess in a faraway land.

"Shrek the Musical" performances will be held Jan. 23 through Jan. 26 at the Village Theater in Canton. 

The show will feature 16-year-old Brett Moore, a student at Canton High School student, who will perform as Shrek in Sunday’s noon show. Schoolcraft College student Connor Rhoades, 21, will play Shrek in the other shows. Sara Garzycynski, 18, is a Salem High School student and is one of three Fionas in the night cast. The 18-year-old Kaiti Szczepanik from Plymouth High School also plays Fiona, but in the day cast. CJ Hayes, 18, of Schoolcraft College and Dante Hill, 18, of Skyline High School in Ann Arbor will both play Donkey in separate shows. 

Based on the book by William Steig and the DreamWorks Animation Motion Picture, this musical is one part romance, one part crazy fairy tale and 
great fun for everyone. 

Performances will be Jan. 23-24 at 7 p.m.; Jan. 25 at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. and Jan. 26 at 12 p.m. and 3 p.m.
