'Cat in the Hat' Encourages Reading at Canton Event

Library marks the birthday of celebrated children's book author Dr. Suess.

On Wednesday, library program specialist Kristen Kostielney dressed as the beloved Dr. Seuss character the Cat in the Hat for an engaging evening of reading to children at . She read Mr. Brown Can Moo! Can You? and Green Eggs and Ham and led children in singing a round of Happy Birthday to Seuss, who was born Theodor Seuss Geisel on March 2, 1904. After the reading and singing, children played games, colored pictures and sampled goldfish-shaped cheese crackers, a nod to another Dr. Seuss classic, One Fish Two Fish Red Fish Blue Fish.
