Concert at Kellogg Park Rained Out

Friday's Music in the Air show featuring the Sound Alternative band is called off due to rainy weather.

The scattered showers that rolled through lower Michigan on Friday forced the cancellation of the Sound Alternative band's concert in Kellogg Park. The show was scheduled for 7 p.m. and was to be part of the Music in the Air concert series.

"It takes two hours to set all of the equipment up," said John Buzuvis, Director of Business Operations for the Plymouth Downtown Development Authority. "It didn't make much sense to set it up if it might rain again and start the concert late."

Though the rain had subsided by the time the concert was scheduled to begin, it was still coming down at the start of setup.

"I'm very disappointed. We don't miss many of these concerts," said Evelyn Mason, a resident who had walked to Kellogg Park with her husband to watch the show.

The concert series in Kellogg Park will continue next Friday at 7 p.m. featuring the Shawn Riley Band of Northville. This is, of course, if weather allows.
