Concours d'Elegance Returns to Plymouth July 28

Everything you need to know about attending the annual prestigious car show.

One of the most distinguished car shows in the world, Concours d'Elegance of America will return to Plymouth for its third year on July 28.

The show, now in its 35th year, was moved to The Inn at St. John in 2011 after years at Meadowbrook in Rochester. 

The show will include about 300 classic and rare cars. The value of the total field is more than $10 million. 

Location, date and time 
The Concours d'Elegance will take place on Sunday, July 28 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at The Inn at St. John’s, 44045 Five Mile Road, Plymouth. Click here for a map

Tickets
 
Tickets are available the day of the event at the gate. Tickets cost $25 for adults, children 12 and under are free. Price includes free parking the day of the event. Tickets for the Concours, and many of the events preceding it, are also available online in advance.

  • The first electric cars
  • Cars that ran in the Great Race
  • The 50th Anniversary of the 1963 Split Window Corvette, 
  • The 50th Anniversary of the Porsche 911 
  • Jet Age Convertibles
  • Vintage NASCARS 
  • Detroit Iron, including early Lincolns, Cadillacs, Chryslers and Packards 
  • Indianapolis Iron, including breathtaking Duesenbergs, Stutz and Marmon cars as well as a rare 1934 aerodynamic Pierce Silver Arrow

In addition there will be numerous associated events leading up to the show the week before. 

Hall of Fame Induction and Awards Celebration; Thursday, July 25
Each year, in conjunction with the Concours d’Elegance of America, the Automotive Hall of Fame holds its Annual Induction and Awards Dinner in the St. John’s Grande Ballroom.The Automotive Hall of Fame has been celebrating outstanding automotive achievement since 1940. RM Auctions-Preview; Friday, July 16; 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
This event will be held at the St. John’s Grande Ballroom Parking Lot

Motoring Tour; Friday, July 26; 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Departing from The Inn at St. John's, classic autos will drive the countryside with a stop in Brighton at the Lingenfelter Collection which holds a variety of Corvettes, muscle cars and exotics. The tour will return to beautiful Historic Millrace Village in Northville for lunch. The buildings at the village will be open for touring. Classic cars and motorcycles, pre-1970, are welcome. Cost: $90 per vehicle and driver, $35 for each additional passenger. 

VIP Tour – Private Collection Edition; Friday, July 26; 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. 
Depart from St. John's by charter motor coach to tour Terry Adderley's private automobile collection. The excursion includes luncheon. Cost: $100 per person. This event has limited availability. 

RM Auctions – Cars and Cocktails; Friday July 26; 6-9 p.m.
Visitors can preview select automotive paintings and sculptures in a special showing prior to the Concours show on Sunday. Some of the world’s finest automotive artists exhibit at the Concours d’Elegance of America Invitational Art Exhibit. Also, RM Auctions will offer a preview of cars to be auctioned on Saturday. Cost: $60 per person. 

Plymouth Friday Night 
Music in the Air; Friday, July 26 7 p.m.
Enjoy live music and view Concours level automobiles in beautiful Kellogg Park located in the heart of Downtown Plymouth. Come early to enjoy dining at one of the over two dozen eateries or shopping at the many unique locally owned businesses. Cost: Free 

Concours Seminars; Saturday, July 27
Seminars are first come first serve in St. John's Judea Room. Cost: Free. 
  • Haggerty Looks Under the Hood of the Class of ’63 - 9 a.m. What does the market look like for 50th Anniversary cars like the Corvette, Sting Ray, Buick Rivera, Studebaker Avanti and Porsche 911. Panelists include Dave Kinney and Bob Sass. Moderated by Adam Martin. 
  • Mercedes-Benz Pagoda Seminar – 11 a.m. Join a discussion panel led by experts covering the Mercedes Pagoda style: 230 SL, 250 SL and 280 SL. These models featured innovative designs and materials. 
  • College for Creative Studies Design Seminar – 1 p.m. CCS presents a panel discussion on Electric Car design. 
RM Vintage Motor Car Auction, Saturday, July 27 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The RM Auctions sale will feature an exciting array of high caliber classic and other collectible automobiles at one of the year’s most prestigious auctions. Admission to the preview is free of charge, while admission to the auction is restricted to qualified media, consignors, and registered bidders. Saturday Night Charity Gala, Saturday, July 27; 6:30-11 p.m.
Gather at St. John's Atrium before the big day to enjoy cocktails and dinner. The night will include a live auction featuring the 2013 original poster art by Francois Bruere. Cost: $175 per person, limited availability. 

City of Northville Concours Preview Party, Saturday, July 27 3-9 p.m. 
Visit downtown Northville and check out the Concours-quality display of vintage automobiles. Free shuttle to and from The Inn at St. John’s. Cost: Free
