Spotlight on Youth Presents "Santa Lives!"

Santa Lives! Yes, Virginia, There is a Santa Claus is presented by Spotlight on Youth, for one weekend only, featuring young actors from Plymouth, Canton, Belleville, Westland, South Lyon and Dearborn Heights.

The production is inspired by the 1897 editorial in the New York Times, where an 8-year-old girl asks if there really is a Santa Claus, and editor Francis R. Church responds that, yes, there is.

In this show Virginia loses her holiday spirit when her classmates roll their eyes at the play she writes for her school. Will she get her holiday cheer back? A surprise visit from Santa might help.

The show is relatively short, at 1.5 hours, so little ones won't get too restless. Plus Santa Claus will visit after the show to take photos with youngsters, for $5 a picture.

Showtimes are 7 p.m. Dec. 8, 9 and 10, and 2 p.m. Dec. 10 and 11.
