Welcome to Idlewild: The Black Eden of Michigan showcases what is perhaps the most famous resort for African Americans in the United States from 1912 to 1964. Idlewild, MI was a resort town that drew middle- and upper-class African Americans for summer relaxation as well as many famous entertainers, politicians and intellectuals. This traveling exhibit was curated by Michigan State University's history museum.
