Live music at Kellogg Park, patriotic festival in Canton, new movies at both the Penn and Compuware Arena Drive-In theaters.

Father's Day is nearly upon us. Here are some chances to get out with your dad.

1. The Lincoln Lawyer comes to 

Where/When: 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Friday, 7 p.m. and 9:15 p.m. Saturday, 4:45 p.m. and 7 p.m. Sunday and 7 p.m. on June 23 at the historic . Check the Penn Theatre website for more information and the latest times and showings.

Why Go: The Lincoln Lawyer stars actor Matthew McConaughey in this crime/legal thriller. The film is rated R and runs 118 minutes.

2. Northville's Shawn Riley Band hits  stage for 

Where/When: 7 p.m. Friday at Kellogg Park along Penniman Avenue in Plymouth.

Why Go: Enjoy the sounds of the Shawn Riley Band on Friday, as the band headlines the fourth week of Music in the Air. The band plays a variety of rock and pop tunes to please listeners of all demographics.

Pricing: Admission and parking is free.

3.  returns for 20th season

Where/When: 1-11 p.m. , 10:30 a.m.-11 p.m. at , Heritage Park Drive at Canton Center Road in Canton. The event kicked off Thursday.

Why Go: The festival is in its 20th year and promises food and entertainment  capped by a spectacular fireworks display on Saturday. 

Pricing: Carnival tickets and armbands are available; tickets are $1 or 50-ticket packs are $40; advance armbands are $16 per day; armbands purchased day of are $20 (Friday or Saturday).

4. Comic-book films invade Compuware Arena Drive-In Theatres

Where/When:  Dusk on Friday and Saturday at 

Why Go: The Compuware Arena Drive-In is open again every day with new selections premiering each Friday. Several of this week's features are ripped straight from the pages of the comic books: Kung Fu Panda 2 (PG) with Thor (PG-13); Mr. Popper's Penguins (PG) with X-Men: First Class (PG-13) and Green Lantern (PG-13) with The Hangover Part II (R).

5.  offers fresh produce downtown

Where/When: 7:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. along Penniman Avenue and South Main Street near the Gathering and .

Why Go: Enjoy fresh Michigan and U.S. produce as farmers and distributors set up shop all along near Kellogg Park.
