Holiday Party Recipes: Quick and Easy Reindeer Noses

This recipe found on Pinterest is perfect to throw together for big parties, or for when you are in a hurry.

Whether you forgot about the office party and need a dish to bring, or you're throwing a family party and need to feed a lot of people - this festive recipe is the perfect combination of salty and sweet. It's sure to be a hit with your guests or co-workers.

I found this recipe on Pinterest, but it was pinned from the House on Hilltop blog. In all, this recipe can be completed in 20 minutes and it's kid friendly so feel free to invite the little ones to help you in the kitchen.

To make this you'll need:

  • 1 large bag of red and green M&M's
  • 1 large bag of Hershey Kisses
  • 1 bag of round pretzels (I found some at Meijer)

To start, preheat the oven to 225 degrees. While the oven preheats, line one cookie sheet with parchment paper. Place as many pretzels as you can flat on the sheet. Next, unwrap the Hershey Kisses and place one in the middle of each pretzel round. Place the cookie sheet in the oven and let bake for 3 minutes. Remove the sheet from the oven. Open the M&M's and press one M&M into the middle of each pretzel round squishing the Hershey Kisses. Make sure the squished chocolate touches all sides of the pretzel. If you have time, you can let them set at room temperature for an hour or two. If you are in a hurry, let them set for 10 minutes in the refrigerator. Enjoy!

I tried this recipe today and the kisses didn't melt at all. I left them in longer and the chocolate crumbles when I press the m&m into it.

That's really strange. If you had them in a 225 degree oven they should have melted, especially if you left them in longer. If you let the chocolate cool for too long after removing it from the oven then it would become too hard. The blog linked to above states, "If you leave them in too long, they will dry out and become hard." So maybe that's what happened?

I use Hershey Hugs when I make them. Super yummy!

Yum! I saw they had some candy cane Kisses at the store, and a few other flavors. I bet those taste good as well.
