Michigan Philharmonic Celebrates 2014 with Annual Chamber Concert Sunday

The Michigan Philharmonic presents "Miniature Masterpieces" on Sunday at 2 p.m. at The Chapel at St. John's.

The year 2013 was a good one for the Michigan Philharmonic, bringing numerous major national awards and recognitions for the Michigan Philharmonic for innovative programming and the orchestras’ award winning Conductor, Nan Washburn.

The New Year will be no exception as the Michigan Philharmonic presents its annual Chamber Concert in the beautiful Chapel at St. John’s in Plymouth on Sunday.

The concert, "Miniature Masterpieces," will feature the Michigan Philharmonic Wind Ensemble which will include a unique combination of wind instruments performing Mozart’s extraordinary “Gran Partita”.  

In addition, the concert features a special performance by Michigan Phil Concertmaster Joseph Deller, who will be performing “Ladder to the Moon” - a beautiful piece by University of Michigan Composer, Michael Daugherty, based on Georgia O’Keeffe’s paintings of the New York skyline.  

Concert goers also have the opportunity to attend a special Pre-Concert Brunch at 5ive at St. John’s prior to the concert at 11:30 a.m. The cost of the brunch is $30.

All ticket buyers are included in the season-long raffle for a Two Year Lease on a new Cadillac ATS Sedan, courtesy of Don Massey Cadillac. Drawing for the winner will take place at the last season concert in April 2014.
