Warm weather, pop-rock tunes please Plymouth's Music in the Air attendees.

Thousands of music fans flocked to on Friday for the fourth week of downtown Plymouth's Music in the Air concert series.

The Shawn Riley Band headlined, bringing an accessible pop-rock vibe to the concertgoers.

Last Friday's concert, which would have featured the Sound Alternative, was . The series didn't miss a beat this week, though, with warm weather setting the stage for a relaxing evening for local families.

Children and adults crowded the stage to dance to the music, while vendors served up hamburgers and other treats for those in attendance.

Nancy Hart of Plymouth Township attended with her boyfriend, Felix Shows of Detroit. Hart said she has lived in the area 18 years and tries to attend the concerts regularly.

Shows, however, was attending his first Music in the Air event and was "very surprised" with the large crowd and soothing atmosphere.

"It's relaxing," he said, noting the concerts can help people "get away from things."

Next week's concert will feature the Crutches, described by Downtown Plymouth's website as "a party band" that promises "a few surprises."
