Plan Your Art in the Park Weekend

Five things to know about 2011's Art in the Park

• The theme is Vincent Van Gogh, so don't be surprised to see his work springing up throughout the weekend, including chalk and live-mural interpretations.
• The event began in 1980 and has expanded over 32 years to become the second-largest art festival in Michigan. Expect large crowds and take advantage of the shuttle service.
• Looking for something your kids might enjoy? The Lego Spinjitzu Tour is making a stop at Art in the Park. Lego will set up shop in Kellogg Park all weekend, and My Adventure Theater will be running interactive shows Friday at noon, 2 p.m. and 4 p.m., Saturday at 11 a.m., 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., and Sunday at noon, 2 p.m. and 3 p.m.

• Plymouth CrossFit will be at the corner of Main Street and Fralick offering a variety of workouts over the weekend.

Friday, July 8

• Art in the Park runs from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. 
• One Love, a reggae band, will perform all day at the Ann Arbor Trail and Forest Avenue intersection.
• Free shuttle service is available from the ACH Plant (formerly Visteon) at 14425 Sheldon Road. It will run continuously from 11:30 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. Friday from the plant parking lot to Plymouth City Hall.

Saturday, July 9
