Village Theater Preview: Curse of the Hopeless Diamond and Tribute

This weekend features a Spotlight Players murder-mystery dinner and a BeckRidge Chorale event.

Tickets for Saturday night's showing of the murder-mystery dinner theater show Curse of the Hopeless Diamond are sold out, though there are still a few seats left for Friday night's showing.

"There are a total of seven tickets left," said Anne Jahn, Village Theater Box Office manager.

The show follows Reginald Potter as he tries to fend off attempts to steal his valued (and cursed) diamond. Among its suitors is his wife, Daphne, who is eager to rekindle her Vegas career. Tickets are $45 for the 7 p.m. Spotlight Players show.

Also on the Saturday night marquee is Virtue, the BeckRidge Chorale's Village Voices concert. The event "pays tribute to television, stage, and screen," according to the Village Theater show description. It will include the music of Aretha Franklin, Neil Diamond and songs from the television show Glee, among other artists.

"I know they have a number of tickets left for tomorrow night," said Jahn. Tickets are $15 for the 8 p.m. showing.

Both performances will be at the Village Theater. Tickets for both shows are $6.
